St Albans and Welwyn Methodist Circuit

Lent

Lent begins on Ash Wednesday and covers a period of approximately six weeks, finishing on Easter Sunday.  It is a period of preparation of the believer, traditionally through prayer, penance, repentance of sins, almsgiving, atonement and self-denial.

But the last day before Lent is Shrove Tuesday - where traditionally we use up the nice things in our fridges and cupboards making pancakes.

On-line devotions for Lent - can be found on the Hatfield Road Methodist Church website:  Pray your way to work
