Spirituality Sustained through Song

Revd Alan Combes

21st April 2018 10am - 4pm

"Born in Song - God's People have always been Singing" A beloved Methodist Hymn by Revd. Brian Hoare

Refreshments / soup and bread lunch provided

Suggested contribution £25 but we do not want cost to be a barrier so please pay what you can afford.

There is something deep rooted about the spirituality of singing - when poetry captures the heart of our faith journey and is then combined with music.

This day will unpack worship, open up the historic role of the Psalms in Temple worship and provide the opportunity to explore your own favourite Psalms, Hymns and Songs - why do they move you, sustain you or speak to you?  A workshop on writing hymns / songs will include the chance and reflective space to write your won new hymn or to read some new hymns.  So come prepared to sing or to enjoy listening to others sing!
