SuStAinable StAlbans Week
Monday 23rd April 7.30pm - 9pm at Marlborough Road Methodist Church "Developing an Eco Church". Sustainability of the environment is a vital and central issue for many people of faith. This event will help us consider what can be done to make our places of worship more environmentally friendly.
Wednesday 25th April 7.30-9pm at Board Room, Holy Well Lodge, 41 Holywell Hill, organised by Inter Faith St Albans. "Faith: Friend or Foe of the Environment?" A sustainable environment is a vital and central issue for many people of faith. This event will help us explore the who, what, why, when and how issues of working together on the impact o faith upon the environment.
Wednesday 25th April 8-10pm at Marlborough Road Methodist Church, St Albans and District Green Party, "Housing for All - Is there a sustainable way?" St Albans District Green Party is hosting an event for all those concerned about housing development an need in the local area. We have invited a panel of speakers from organisations involved in community land trusts, planning, development, homelessness and environmental campaigning. This is an opportunity to find out more about how communities can take control of development in their area, how homelessness can be prevented and how St Albans District can develop sustainably. There will be an opportunity for questions and discussion and a record will be made of the event so that the ideas presented can be shared more widely.
Thursday 26th April 7-9pm at Marlborough Road Methodist Church . St Albans Liberal Democrats "On the Right Track - making transport affordable, enjoyable and environmentally sustainable." Norma Baker on the revolution in transport systems. Norman is managing Director of the solar-powered bus company "The Big Lemon", and was former Lib Dem Transport Minister.
