The Alban Pilgrimage 2019 will be held on Saturday 22nd June with the procession beginning at 11am from St Peter's Church and progressing through the Market Place.
Join the crowds in St Albans as the city comes together to celebrate Britain's first saint, Alban.
Enjoy a wonderful spectacle as giant carnival puppets tell the story of the remarkable man who gave the city its name. Roman chariots, centurions, lions and roses all take their place alongside Alban and Amphibalus in a dramatic procession from St Peter's Church through the historic streets to St Albans Cathedral.
The Festival Eucharist follows at which the Very Revd Dr David Ison, Dean of St Paul's Cathedral will preach.
4pm Festival Evenson and Procession to the Shrine, with Professor Dairmaid MacCulloch, University of Oxford preaching.
