We are the Methodist People of Mid-Hertfordshire
Welcome to our website - and please have a look at the individual churches in our Circuit.
The Mission of the St Albans & Welwyn Circuit is to reveal the Kingdom of God through the Methodist people and their ecumenical partners across central Hertfordshire. We aim to do this through the Holy Spirit in the worship of God, building up the church, making disciples of Jesus Christ and transforming society by working for justice, peace and unity.
My name is the Reverend Rosemary Fletcher, an ordained Methodist presbyter, and since 1st September 2013 I have been the Superintendent of this Circuit. Including myself, we have a total of 4 presbyters and 1 deacon serving in the St. Albans and Welwyn Circuit.
We hope you will find this site informative and easy to use. We belong to the Methodist Church in Britain, which is itself part of the worldwide family of Methodist churches. We are also part of Churches Together in Britain and Ireland and we value our ecumenical links.
If you would like to know more about Methodism, then please go to the Methodist Church of Great Britain website.
Methodist churches in Britain are grouped into 36 Districts and each District is divided into geographical areas, called Circuits, for mutual help and support, for example, by sharing preachers and other resources. We are in the Bedfordshire, Essex and Hertfordshire District and our circuit covers mid-Hertfordshire, with 10 churches and 610 members. We are organised into three geographical sections:
- Hertsmere with St John's Potters Bar, and Radlett
- St Albans with Hatfield Road and Marlborough Road
- Welwyn Hatfield with Birchwood and Oxlease in Hatfield and Digswell Village, Ludwick Way, Panshanger in the Welwyn Garden City
